Academic Words in Discourse News: A Corpus Based Study Of Pakistani English Newspaper

چکیده

This study addressed two research questions regarding academic words used in the Corpus of Pakistani English Newspaper Articles (COPENA).Firstly it asked about frequently corpus Newspaper, Secondly was asked, to what extent authors or editor use Academic newspaper as compared with Coxhead 570 (AWL). Total 414435 running taken from online Newspaper; E. dawn and The Nation. computer software ANTCONC find out frequency percentage occurred COPENA. Another tool WORDSMITH AWL (Academic word list) result revealed that covered 2.58% total corpus, COPENA are clearly presented table. It also almost all is present high frequency. So indicated articles might be highly beneficial for learning a language achievement.
